The biggest event on the St. Thomas USVI calendar, St. Thomas Carnival is set to return for its 73rd year. The 2025 edition of this highly anticipated festival is set to take place from April 27 to May 3, transforming the island into a vibrant celebration of culture, music, and tradition.
The countdown begins with pre-carnival events, including the crowning of the carnival Princess on April 12th and Queen on April 19th. From there, the excitement builds with the highly anticipated Calypso Monarch competition on April 26, where top performers vie for the prestigious title.
The official week of celebrations kicks off with the Boat Race and Panorama on April 27, setting the tone for a non-stop cultural spectacle. From April 28 to May 3, revelers can immerse themselves in Village Nights, featuring free nightly musical performances by top local, regional, and international acts. The Food Fair will highlight the island’s finest cuisine, with local vendors offering a variety of delicious dishes and handcrafted goods.
One of the major highlights of the week is the J’ouvert Sunrise on May 1, where revelers take to the streets in a morning of exuberant dancing and revelry. The grand finale unfolds with the Children’s Parade on May 2, followed by the Adult’s Parade on May 3, where thousands of masqueraders in dazzling costumes dance through Charlotte Amalie along a two-mile route. The festivities conclude with a spectacular fireworks display, closing out another unforgettable St. Thomas Carnival.
